The old school house

Obscured by a yew in the churchyard, this is a view of the old school house in our village. The School itself stands to the left, and was built in 1841, but the date of the house is uncertain at present.
Imagine the headmaster or headmistress living here, close to the school, with journey time to work less than a minute !
The School took in evacuees from London during World War 1. It must have been a very different experience for the city children to come to Somerset.
Now the School and the school house together have been a private home for some years, and the children catch the bus to the next village to go to school. I will blip the school itself one day soon!
