Morrissey

A bit of an unplanned evening this evening. I'd had a pretty quiet day with mowing the lawn and watching the football being the height of my excitement. It got to early evening and we saw a message on a local facebook page about someone giving away a couple of Morrissey tickets that they couldn't use. Someone had already enquired about them but it turned out they couldn't get a baby sitter at such short notice so we got offered them. We'd thought about getting tickets when they were released, but just didn't have the spare cash at the time.

We headed through in time to catch a quick bite to eat then got to the Hydro with what should have been fifteen minutes to spare until Morrissey came on. as it turned out the support act, Buffy Sainte-Marie, which is a name I hadn't heard in about thirty years or more, was running late, so we had plenty time to spare.

It was a brilliant gig where he opened with the Queen is dead followed by Suedehead then went for a selection of new stuff, older stuff and four Smiths tracks .Unfortunately the final Smiths track was Meat is murder with an accompanying horrific video which was a bit of a traumatic one to end on before the encore, incredibly powerful though.

Great gig, especially for a surprise impromptu one.
