Mama Owl

This Great Horned Owl has a nest in this hollow tree.  I'm not sure if she is sitting on eggs or if they have already hatched.  I waited quite a while to see if any owlets popped their heads up but only Mama was visible. The male was asleep in a tree very well camouflaged on the other side of the path. Now that I know they are nesting here again, I'll be checking regularly for babies. I had a hard time choosing between this shot and a close up but I decided to show her in her habitat this time. I have a feeling there will be more owl blips to come.  :))
