All along the way...

Burning Bute

I have not blipped for a long time and I heard the recent news of the difficulties  facing Blip. The face of the site has changed greatly form my last visit, white , not the old black. A chance meeting with blipper Richard, in Loch Fyne, made me consider the many good things posting a photo diary does for your photography, discipline and consistency, two definite ingredients, something I have applied fully to work and life, but sadly not to blip of late.
The past few days of the eclipse, and the aurora and the stunning spring days really make me appreciate all we have in the world. Aftera  1000 mile tour round Scotland in the last week it reminded me of how fragile a balance it is and how disrespectful the human race is to it's surroundings. There was not one location or roadside verge on the West coast which did not contain the discarded items of modern life, it is sad and a fact which we do not like to face up to.
Looking across the Clyde last night to see the fires on the Isle of Bute, billowing smoke across the sunset marks one effect that man has on our environment. The church, the former moral compass of our society has lost it's way, while the rise in instant gratification through technology and fast foods leads to a basic ignorance of where we actually live.
Prehaps the astronomical events of the past week or the upcoming change of governance may make some difference, but a lot of work is required by us all, not just in photoshop either.
