Today's the day ........................ to get wet

I got absolutely soaked taking this picture!

We ventured across into gladderscountry this afternoon.  On the way, there's a bit of the road at Sandside, where you are pretty much at the same level as the Kent Estuary.  If you happen to be there, as we were, to coincide with high tide - and spring tides at that - you are likely to find that the road is underwater.

It's enough to put most people off and to send them round to Arnside via another route - but it's also when drivers of these big 4x4s come into their own.  This is what they have been waiting for to justify their existence in what is usually a pretty urban setting.  They whoop with joy and rush through the water at high speed, sending fountains of spray in all directions.

The indignities I am prepared to suffer for the sake of getting a blip ...................?
