"EXTINGUISHED"

A fire broke out this morning in the ship loader conveyor system at Hunterston coal terminal in Ayrshire emmitting considerable flames and billowing black smoke.

The cascade of water is coming from the tug Svitzer Milford which is fitted with fire fighting equipment and arrived on scene several hours later and is behind the jetty. (my shot was taken almost 6 hours after the fire broke out). Fortunately there were no injuries.

The vessel unloading was the 292 metre Sam John Legacy and the Police launch was on station to ensure safety by keeping other vessels clear.
