Thainston Market

Thainston Car Boot Sale takes place every Sunday morning at Inverurie about 10 miles north west of Aberdeen. I have only been a few times. Today I was helping out on a stall to raise funds for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Unfortunately it poured with rain all morning which kept away both stall holders and customers. It also meant we could not display much of the merchandise we had for sale which would have got damaged by the rain. Nonetheless we were able to raise just over £130. We called it a day shortly before noon as there seemed to be relatively few potential customers remaining. We retired very wet and returned to base to dry off both our selves and the remaining merchandise which we had been able to display.

We have sufficient remaining material for another car boot sale in a couple of week time, but will choose a venue where we will be under cover so that we are not so susceptible to the weather.
