Painting the fence

Eventually got outside into the garden at around 12.00 noon. Doing the weekly menu and shopping online was swifly followed by coffee by which time most of the morning had passed.

Out in the garden it was a case of trying to disentangle a few years of decorative ivy from some trellis on top of a fence so that we could move the trellis to another part of the fence. By the time we'd untangled the ivy we found the trellis was beyond repair even with the use of "no more nails".

So then it was down to the hard graft of repainting 8 fence panels to prolong their life a few more years. £12.50 for a tin of preservative and a day's painting seemed a better deal than 8 replacement panels. We managed 6 panels and have two more to do. Looks a whole lot better but it was not the easiest of tasks with some panels being hidden behind spikey bushes and shrubs.

We were thinking of going for a walk after we'd finished and cleared all away but we decided to have a cup of tea instead before face timing Chrisptopher in San Diego. Then it was up to Doreen's for Sunday dinner.
