Birthday pavlova!

We had a family meal tonight for my mother in law's 70th birthday, which was earlier in the week.

She is wheat intolerant so I opted for making a mahoosive pavlova rather than a more traditional cake option!

CrocGirl helped ... so we had flavoured the pavlova with lemon zest and it was a pretty tasty combo with the strawberries ... shame you can't get scottish strawberries at this time of year ... the imported ones just aren't as good!

CannyScot and EleanorRuth have already blipped this pud and theirs gives a better idea of scale .... it was big ... an 8 egger!! It fed the 11 of us ... some seconds were had ... and there's enough for pudding tomorrow night!

Although it is already Blipped ... I made it so I get to jump on the blip bandwagon!!! The sparklers didn't last long enough to make it into the pic!

Might need to repeat this for the big family get together in May when the Scottish and English contingents of the family meet for the celebration of many big birthdays & anniversaries!
