The Who

Off to the O2 again, this time to see The Who, the two remaining members Daltry and Townsend are 71 and 69 respectively.

The Who Hits 50 tour gives you an indication of what to expect. The first 45 minutes or so is pretty much this, big tune after big tune, opening with I Can't Explain and covering the 60's back catalogue. It's great. There's then a bit in the middle where I loose it a bit. There's the section that covers the rock opera "A Quick One While He's Away" and it feels self indulgent,or perhaps this is for the die hard fans. They get back into their stride with a bit of Tommy and then Baba O'Reilly which is brilliant.
Overall it didn't quite deliver what I expected, the lighting wasn't great and the visuals only seemed to have been considered for half of the gig.


You do have to admire Townsends energy though !
