The Lover Boy. Leitz Summitar 50mm

This is the upper part of a traditional piece of Cape Dutch furniture.  Below are three drawers extending the full width of the piece.  The style is a combination of armoire and "jonkmanskas" or (young man's chest) Somehow, in our silly vernacular he became simply  "The Lover Boy".  The dark wood is Stinkwood (Ocotea bullata) and the light, Yellow wood (Podocarpus latifolius).  In the Cape Dutch tradition they are commonly used in juxtaposition, but were also used separately.
