The Hedge - NOT

One on the left is when it had grown into a 7 foot hedge the length of the patio with an arched entrance (another arch is to the right coming from the back of the garden).

Centre photo is 2013 when we'd removed the right hand side of the hedge because parts of it were dying.

Yesterday, 22 March 2015, I cut down the rest of it, not easy when it's been growing for nearly 20 years but used my jigsaw with a long blade! It was quite a lot of stuff to cut up but managed to do it in two load to the tip where they recycle garden waste.

Reason for demolishing it completely is that we are having a small conservatory, just 1.5m out from the dining room to give us a little more room when we have a large gathering, which is often.
Paul, the builder, is coming tomorrow to dig out the footings. Typically, we've had some lovely weather over the past fortnight and the forecast for tonight and tomorrow is rain, with more rain, on and off, over the next few days.
