Going home time

Going home time. 5:30 (or 17:30 for those of you on 24 hour clocks).
I put my coat on, and was just about to leave the building, when........
down came the hail. And it kept falling for about 10 minutes, by which time the ground was covered in crunchy little ice-balls.
After a while I made it to my car, and called C to let him know I was on my way but that I may be some time because of the state of the roads, and he was amazed. We live only a few miles away, but it was lovely sunshine there, and not a sign of the hail storm.
What's that saying? "The hail falls on the righteous" ?
Or is it "I'm dreaming of a white Easter"?
