A la Ronde

This 16-sided house near Exmouth in South Devon is one of the most unusual places I've ever seen - a real gem. Built in the late 1790s for two unmarried ladies, it remained inhabited only by unmarried women for a century, and remained lived in with all the original furniture and decor for another century before being handed to the National Trust. When they took it over, everything that had ever been in the house was still there, including amazing ornaments made from feathers and a gallery in the attic made from shells.
