The river bridge

Taken out of service in the sixties this old rail line has also been utilised as a branch line for the colliery that grew out of nowhere and quickly went back from whence it came. It now serves as a connection from the mainline to a test track. The test track using more of the older route beyond the mine.
The river is also an old transport route, an old lock a little beyond this point where the river was lowered a level. The lock is now an overflow for the weir, the wier has been removed and replaced with the same kind of rocks that also fill the lock.
