If chimneys could talk

This lovely building was first the home of James Bateman who created a beautiful Victorian garden. It then became a hospital and provided isolation wards for people with scarlet fever and, I think, TB. I first came here when I worked in the NHS; now we visit it as a National Trust property and enjoy walking round the grounds.
