Maple Tree Blossom

Our neighbor's trees are covered in these blossoms, but ours are not. I don't remember them being so large before.   I am sure there is a scientific explanation for this if I really wanted to know.

I snipped off a few short branches to bring into the house and see what they do.  A definite sign of spring!
