A new day dawns in the jungles of Borneo & the wildlife begin another day of doing whatever it is they do. When out on these tours it's not uncommon to see nothing more than a few birds in flight & lots of trees. Therefore it is important to go in with a rockstar mindset. That is, think it & say it out loud & it will appear. Much like your own celebrity rider
From the boat we were in, it didn't look like much. A few family of monkey, some Hornbills & several water birds were out & about with the swiftlets busy skimming the water after possibly a night in the cave.
Breakfast & some free-time before heading out on foot to see what hides behind the bushes.

Leech socks & gumboots. Not exactly comfortable but effective. 40min to tramp to OxBow lake. A few monkeys, some crawly things, butterflies & fungus. Feed the fish, watch some birds then head back again, arriving not before the humidity had soaked us through. Shower & a snooze before lunch & a quiet afternoon awaiting the next river cruise.

Out on the water in the afternoon as the parade of fauna settles in for the night. A few birds in flight, a crocodile resting and then... elephants. There may have been monkeys in the tree above us & the Monitor than meandered just meters from the boat... but this was an opportunity to view the arse of an elephant. And that we did.
But for those who waited longer; like us, they came out of the reeds & grass to drink. Not sure who was down first, but they had made a path for baby. Such a rare site here in Sabah, we were encouraged to buy a lotto ticket. The guides explained they only see 3
elephants a year.
Last dinner on tour for this trip.
