Tartan tat

Scotland played Northern Ireland in a friendly international football at Hampden on Wednesday night. Fair to say it wasn't the most inspiring or exciting match - both sides using the occasion as a warm-up for their competitive matches this coming weekend. But Scotland won 1-0 and I'll settle for that.

Always amused by the walk up to Hampden - burger and fast-food mobile kiosks and guys selling cheap tartan tat out the back of a van or on hastily-erected stalls. I once went to a football match in Norway, where one could buy small tubs of fruit  - something that will never catch on here!

Actually, I did buy a Scotland scarf last night - from the official stall, and cheaper than the street vendors. Result!
