Stornoway

After a long, three-flight day, we finally arrived in Stornoway just as the sun was going down. This was the view from our hotel window.

Earlier, we stepped off the plane at Stornoway Airport to bump into Western Isles MP Angus MacNeil, who was quick to grab the chance to snap a selfie of the two of us with a giant wooden Lewis Chessman in the background - a figure that stands behind the luggage carousel - https://mobile.twitter.com/AngusMacNeilSNP/status/581231061344092162/photo/1 . I would have snapped one myself, except that my camera was switched off for the flight and was taking too long to load up.

Later we had dinner in one of Stornoway's best restaurants, Digby Chick, with friends Anna and Alex who provided live music in the local theatre for the launches of both "Hebrides" and "Entry Island". What a great night.

Flying down to Glasgow tomorrow to present the prize for the best film drama at the Gaelic FilmG Awards. Then back up to the islands on Saturday for a week of research on Harris.
