poor wee lamb

walked part of the Southern Upland Way ( from Wanlockhead to Sanquhar) today with the Dunscore Hillwalking Group.

We found this lamb on its side, unable to walk. Kath, who is a farmer, tried to splint its leg, but it was soon apparent that its back was broken as well.

We spoke to a man in Wanlockhead village, who said that the shepherd had been told about the lamb yesterday. I hope they have done the right thing by now and put it out of its misery.
