Beyond the Pint of No Return

The uneclipsed sun
Invades the heart of the dark bar,
As an uninvited guest,
Piercing the frosted glass,
And searing the unexposed flesh
Of the subterranean hop and barley miners.
'Out damned light,' spits one troglodyte,
'Get thee to a nunnery,' snarls another.
But the light floods and satiates
Bleaching the bar,
And turning the  punters to salt.
From all but memory.
