Lunch at Mr Harkers Place

Lunch today with friends at The Old Harkers Arms in Chester, it was the start of Harkers Pie and Champion Ale Week so the choice of food and ale was more difficult than usual!

The pub is in the basement of an old warehouse that fronts the Shropshire Union Canal near Chester Station, which at one time had been a canal-boat chandlers run by a Mr Harker.  This was the first pub in the Brunning and Price chain.

In the Good Pub Guide 2015 it is the UK Town Pub of the Year.
