Our director Tony lingering as we waited for the Minister of Environment to arrive for our meeting. He's only 33 (the minister, not Tony) and from the very privileged Cambodian elite yet is one of the few government officers I have met who signals a more professional engaged future for how the government works and operates. Easy to say but I do have hopes that 30 years from now there will be fewer highly corrupt people in government, liveable salaries for workers to reduce the temptation for bribes and actual functioning partnerships with the NGO sector.
