Golden thatch

A and A paid us visit in the afternoon.  They are off to North Cyprus on Tuesday for six weeks to their little house with a week in Dubai in the middle visiting their daughter and her family.  Lucky them.  North Cyprus is still unspoilt compared with southern Cyprus and they live on a the slopes of a range of mountains above a little Turkish village.

Before they arrived , N and I and Tess went for a walk down our favourite spring lane where the primroses and violets are now flourishing under the trees.  Through the hedge, the new thatch was visible of an old farm house that has recently changed hands.  The barns were converted some years ago when the farmer sold up and the land was bought by neighbouring farmers.  Today the straw was really gleaming in the sunshine.  Next winter's weather will change all that!
