House of God & the doors of ICU

I was, somewhat randomly, thinking about House of God last night and the quote about being a wall not a door. A brilliant, if somewhat cynical and dark book. Doesn't quite fit with "ICU without walls".

Enjoyed being in theater overnight (even if it was till 0530!). There is a pleasing elegance in anaesthesia that critical care never has.

And thats enough philosophy.
