Not embarrassed to admit that instead of seeing more of Lima I spent the morning in Zara, shopping for a new dress and feeling like I was back on Princes St. I came back with a few more things than I had gone looking for (no regrets) and met up with Jos at the hostel after. Our plan to meet Rachel for our bus to Huaraz wasn't going to work out as she was still in Cusco. Since we had paid for her ticket already, we went to the bus station with Andy to see if we could change her ticket into his name instead. We ended up on the Lima Metro (not a real metro, just fancy buses), squished amongst rush hour commuters, trying to get to the Cruz del Sur station before it shut. We made it just in time, to be told that changes were unavailable for the tickets we had bought, and Andy ended up just buying a much more expensive ticket for himself.

After our ticket failures we thought we'd squeeze in a cinema trip before the 11pm bus. We ended up buying tickets to a film about Pablo Escobar at a cinema near the beach. It had already started and we hadn't actually eaten since breakfast, so we strolled in about 25 minutes late with a takeaway pizza each. We realised how fancy the cinema was when a waiter came and took our order for a free drink. Even though the film was pretty awful, you can't really go wrong with pizza and a free corona.

We went back to the hostel to grab our stuff and get ready for the bus. As we strolled out the door at 10.05, reception informed us that the station we needed to get to was actually an hour away. This led to a madly stressful journey which involved the taxi hitting a poor wee dog (which luckily got up fine after) and us running through the HUGE bus terminal trying to find our bus. Thankfully we made it just in time and were on our way to Huaraz just after 11pm.
