Maple Syrup

This weekend is officially Maple Syrup weekend in NH.  We stopped by a Sugar Shack just down the road from home to buy some, but he didn't have any to sell.  It seems the "crop" this year has been really low and slow in coming because of the cold daytime temperatures.  He used a lot of what he had to put in little 3 ounce jugs to give out free to the children who came to visit today and sold the rest early on.  We did get put on a waiting list and he'll call us if he has more.  This is part of the process of boiling the sap down to syrup for hours.
