Hidden Delights...Luing Slate.

The slate produced on Luing,  one of the Slate Islands, is heavily stained with iron. and when sliced open can reveal the most stunning patterns and colours. I intend to print this onto fabric and embroider it. Looks like a distant galaxy. (It's worth 'Googling' The Slate Islands, to find out about this fascinating and rather forgotten part of British industrial history.)
