Avocets in a flap

A trip to Alkborough Flats birding today on what was a damp horrible day.
In between the showers I managed to get a few shots including this one showing some of the  170 + Avocets up in the air after a Peregrine and a Marsh Harrier  had been hunting them down. I have also posted a few more shots on Flickr , including a poor shot through the rain  of part of a flock of 500 + Barnacle Geese. Best viewed  in LARGE
