Members of the Halle and BBC Philharmonic orchestras rehearsing ahead of an evening performance in Altrincham's Market Hall.

We are blessed in having two world class orchestras based in Manchester. As a means of helping to boost the revitalization of the town, they generously opened this afternoon's rehearsal to anyone who wanted to pop in and listen. O loved it. They ran through movements from The Barber of Seville and Swan Lake, all of them, brilliant.
