Rolvenden Windmill, Rolvenden, Kent

Today's photograph is of Rolvenden Windmill which is a post mill on a single storey brick roundhouse. First evidence of a mill is in 1556 and was last reported in use in 1885. It fell into disrepair and was demolished around the time of the First World War circa 1917. The mill was restored in 1956 by Mr & Mrs Barham in 1956 in memory of their son, John Nicholas Barham who was killed in a road accident 24th August 1955.

It stands on a mound and is quite a landmark in the area
