Salford Quays

Really enjoying my long weekend in Manchester. Took the tram to Salford Quays (Edinburgh could have learned some lessons about a tram system from Manchester but that's a different story and too late now). Walked to The Lowry and saw some L.S. Lowry paintings as well as a strange installation of giant ants. After lunch wandered about outside the Imperial War Museum and 'Media City' but unfortunately by then the blue sky had gone and the rain had arrived. Tram back to the City Art Gallery (lovely collection and great cafe - more food) then back to the hotel for a rest before dinner. Thoroughly recommendable city.

This photograph is one of the bridges at Salford Quays and behind it is a copper coloured office building.
