Lovely Ada

Today was the funeral of Dave's lovely mum, 'Ada' real name Dorothy.

She was a wonderful lady, who meant so much, to so many people. The service was held in the church that she had been a member of all her life. With the sun streaming in and a huge number of friends and family gathered to celebrate her life. I don't think there was a spare seat in the place. Her three boys did her proud, with their readings and tributes. These included a sort of CV that Ada had written a few years ago to introduce herself to one of her local history groups. which injected some of her characteristic warmth and humour. It let us hear, in her own words about her achievements and what mattered to her and how much she loved her family. She leaves behind a big gap, but a lot of good memories.

Although it was a sad day, one of her friends remarked, it was a great do, and she would have enjoyed it.
