The Old School

On 21st March my blip shows the old school house in our village. This is the School building. It was built in 1841, and provided education for village children (and evacuees during WW11) until it closed in the summer of 1951.
Today the school and the school house form an unusual private home.
I particularly like the little bell tower, and can imagine the children hurrying to school once the bell was ringing!
Some years ago, before the property was sold, we were invited to a delightful village tea,  laid out inside the school. The large room was all painted white, with high ceilings and big double doors to divide the space when necessary. It was light and airy too.
