Taking Shelter

A new visitor has blown into the garden....this female pheasant was taking shelter from the howling gales in a small sunny spot.......she was quite settled and stayed there as long as the sun did.......which was about ten minutes until the heavens opened :-(

We had a casualty in the strong overnight winds.....they must have been strong because they managed to blow over a very large and heavy garden pot containing a bamboo that we use for screening from the neighbours.......The pot now has a very large chip and crack in it and is essentially useless ......except as very expensive crocks!!
