Great Horned Owlet

For my birthday earlier this month, a friend gave me a trip on the Pascagoula Swamp and River tour.  We saw among other wildlife: wild blue flag irises, a raccoon, a small alligator and a few birds.  The highlight for me though was this osprey nest in which great horned owls had nested.  You can barely make out the head of a baby in the nest.  The owl perched still has its fluffy down feathers.  We didn't see the adult, but am sure it was nearby watching us!
