Eclipse - what eclipse?

I was really hoping that we might get a view of the eclipse this morning. Instead, the thick cloud obscured everything. We watched from the office window as the skies got a bit darker and eventually popped outside for a few minutes to see if the birds went quiet and if the temperature dropped. It did definitely get much darker but the promised spectacular views of the eclipse were sadly lacking. 

Son number two home for the weekend so the whole family is together.
