Life through the lens...

Oakwell

I had to make the most of this lovely spring day, so this morning, washing, and gardening.
This afternoon some relaxation, and a walk round Oakwell Hall Country Park.
How it has changed since I went just a few weeks ago.
It felt as if the place was coming alive again after the winter.
Not only the trees, and flowers, the honey bees, and birds busy building nests, but also the facilities have had a face lift.
One of the new features are the gates you can see in the collage.
Designed by Antonia Stowe, they mark the entrance to the heritage centre.
They display elements of the history of the site. Objects include a civil war sword, helmet, mining lamp, snap tin, miner's helmet, among other things. More details here
We are very lucky to have this on our doorstep, and a big thank you to all who help with the upkeep of the place.
