Crathorne Church

We needed to go into Middlesbrough today. We remembered that we would need to take a different route because Tanton Bridge is being repaired so I suggested that we went to the A19 via Crathorne as I remembered that there is always a magnificent display of daffodils there.

Once we got on the A19 we discovered that it was closed southbound due to an overturned tanker. Fortunately the northbound lane was not affected. By the amount of fire engines and police at the scene it was obvious we would not be returning home on that road. So, once we had done our shopping, we returned by another alternative route. There was a large volume of traffic which was also at a standstill at times. So a journey which should have taken less than 30 minutes took well over an hour. Must remember not to go to Middlesbrough until the bridge is re-opened.
