Limestone Rock Pools

On the shoreline between Whitesands Beach and Barns Ness Lighthouse there is a geological trail formed primarily of limestone. Just over looking the rocky foreshore is an old limestone kiln and even further back up the hill is the La Farge Cement Works. The relatively flat limestone shelves on the shoreline have weathered over the years to form many dints creating a landscape of shallow rock pools. Although the sun was high in the sky they still held my interest.
