Last kid's party?

Miss K is 12 on Saturday and, this evening, she and seven friends had the "laser-quest and party tea" package at a local indoor play centre. Miss L observed that K "will be too old for that sort of thing when she turns 13" so maybe this was the last kid's party we have to organise. We've had some good ones, but it will be a relief. No more party bags! 

The cake itself had caused a good hour of sisterly friction when K had started making it because L was out. [They normally make each other's cake.] On her return, L protested that "no-one makes their own birthday cake" and insisted that she finish it. Oh the joy of kids!
