Abundance.

At our farm some of the young fruit trees, such as this apple, have had an abundant crop this season. Growing food is such a pleasure and we are so fortunate to live in a country where the food supply is so plentiful. Sadly ,it is not the same for everyone on this earth.
A few days ago we saw the film "The Salt of the Earth " about the Brazilian photographer Sebastio Salgado. Many of the images are quite disturbing as it captures some terrible scenes of man's inhumanity to man.It is not a film I will forget.I want to quote what my wife said about it in an email to a friend of hers :
" How do I review this movie to you ?  it is the life of a famous photographer through the images  he has taken.Unbelievable.At times disturbing and horrific, almost unwatchable at other times. I felt quite haunted by it afterwards.human beings are aggressive, horrible creatures at their worst. You'll never complain about anything ever again after seeing this. The end sequences are a wonderful pact he makes to nature when he and his wife take on re-foresting his family's farm which had become a total desert. You could have heard a pin drop in the theatre.Maybe everyone should have to see it ".
