Leopard

Yala National Park is famous for holding a good population of leopards, and where you have a good chance of seeing one. We set off at 5.00 am for an all-day safari, seeing deer, monkeys, crocodiles, elephants, loads of birds and three different sightings of leopards.
We had to queue in suspense for half an hour in our jeep to get to a point where we could see this leopard sitting under a tree. As we got there, it got up and walked beside the road, giving us a much better view, so our patience was rewarded.
