Lake Atitlan Guatemala

Our last day way south of the border on our visit to Guatemala.  This resort was simply beautiful having plantings in a jungle setting with all sorts of colorful flowers, vines and caged exotic birds.   One Macaw was caged only at night and left out all day on his private branch.  Each morning all of the birds were fed by the resort staff.  One morning I counted 6 helicopters landing here for lunch.  Pilots like to refer to their hundred dollar hamburger fly in lunches but this was plain crazy.  Three volcanos surround this lake.
