New DVD Player

We have a lovely matching DVD Player and AMP which cost us a lot of money a good few years ago.  Well the dvd drawer won't open so hubby decided it was time for a new model.

However tying to untangle the leads was not easy, then we seem to be able to connect to the telly but not the amp (and our surround sound) which does't have an HDMI socket thingy.  Anyhow he has gone off back to the shop to get some sort of connection to fix it all.

We will now have a mismatch of hardware which doesn't look so pretty, that's if it all works.  I then will have to unspaghettify the leads to make it all good again.  Could be some time.  Thank goodness it was his idea not mine.

PS we had to call in the experts to connect the new DVD player to our old AMP which no longer had the right sockets in the back.  They plugged it through the Sky Box.
