Unlike the invasive, effectively motile and spade-destroyingly-attack-hardened bamboo at the other side of the garden, this palm was able to be torn from its roots with my bare hands, then lifted with one, though this section had been dead for a few years and had been thoroughly loosened by beetles and woodlice around the base, where four smaller stalks are already growing, but from the roots of their parent, pleasingly sessile.
