My Long Term Memory

Bog hike

We went to look for Moronvuori cabin from Valkmusa National bog area.
It is something we have planned for a while now, but never had time or opportunity to do.  Yesterday on a way home from Helsinki we noticed a road sign to guide a route to the camping site, so we had to go...

Valkmusa Bog is large area containing more than 30 types of mire habitats , which is an exceptionally abundant amount for Southern Finland. Areas are mostly remained in their natural state.

So, first we drove almost 10 km small slush and wet sandy road to the parking place. Lots of road size puddles. Exciting! Then we walked by bog edge and through different types forest and wetlands couple of kilometres. It was silent, there were no else than us and couple of birds.
Camping place was really good. There were hut with fireplace and roofed grilling place and outhouse. We left our greetings to the guest book and walked back.  It was nice place and we definitely will go back in summer.

On our way back My Darling climbed up to see wide view over bog at from top of the Moronhill rock. It was too steep rise to me, he had to use roup to get up. What I heard, the view was well worth the climbing up! B the dog was with him up there. I swear that dog is half chamois. So agile and firm pawed.

Word from Copenhagen, all is wonderfully there. Some serious shopping done today. I got picture message of new pale ankle boots with fringe.  How cool is that! ;D
