Beijing: Show the Flag

To polish off our brief return to Beijing, something we tried to do 11 years ago and failed (by one phase of traffic lights, as the taxi was caught in the road closures) - witness the daily Flag Raising Ceremony.  Today it occurred at 5.51am, at a temperature of 2 C / 36 F (not taking into account a very stiff northerly breeze).  There is definitely something to be said for the ambient heat of a crowd!
