Busy day..

..normal chores, and then down the croft to start clearing beds for sowing. Removed all the old pea nets, the ropes that hold the nets up, and the fence posts that hold the rope up. Also moved a couple of wheelbarrow loads of stones that I'd piled up through the year..

Then down to the bottom of the croft, and pulled out all the old brussels plants, and broccoli, and cabbage, and cauliflowers, and swiss chard. I've left quite a few plats as they're now sprouting nicely for spring greens (and purples in the case of the red cabbages!)..

Then took Tanni for a run on the beach and in N's park. She's been upset again today because of a helicopter still working at the fish farm. It's the only way they can get the freshwater young salmon (sure they have a name) out to the saltwater cages..

Then walked back up to the house for lunch (at 3:00 pm!). Then got the tractor out and put the rotavater on. Back down the croft to work the cleared ground. Still a bit wet in places, but fine elsewhere. We're forcast a few dry days now, so might get on to sow some seeds. Just as I finished, there were a few spots of rain, not much, but the tupperware box is back again now!..

The rotavated bit is down by the shore.

How do you spell rotavate? Is it Rota-vate, or rotor-vate, roter-vate?..
